Here is the second credit card that I use: PenFed Visa Platinum. I used to only use one credit card for everything but I recently added this card to my wallet. It’s really a great addition. If you fill up on gas each week, why not get paid for it? Currently, it’s the only card on the market that offers 5% cash back on gas. Here are other details of the card:
-5% cash back on all gas purchases
-2% cash back on supermarket purchases
-1% cash back on everything else
-No annual fee
-Rewards are automatically credited to your account
This card is great for a person such as myself who knows I’ll be buying gas on a regular basis. It’s yet another easy way to make some extra money during these hard times. For everyday purchases such as movies and groceries, I use the Chase Freedom card (which I also recommend).
There is one small little catch though. To get this card, you must be a member of the Pentagon Federal Credit Union. THis requires you to be connected/related to the military or affiliate programs. There is a way around this though. You can simply join the National Military Family Association for a one time fee of $20. This is open to anyone, even if you’re not in the military.
All in all, the PenFed Visa card is a great addition to anyone’s wallet if you’re looking for $200+ cash back each year. With all major credit cards electing to use rotating categories, this card is a great tool to maximize a year round 5% cash back on all gas purchases. Go and get one today!
